To support the needs of the Queen Anne community, of all ages, races, and abilities, we have established the following list of priorities to meet our needs.
· Remodel or provide a complete rebuild of the Queen Anne Community Center (this is is happening! - see details here)
Keep the promises of a new field upgrade and fencing at West Queen Anne Playfield and the full completion of Smith Cove Park
Invigorate the Queen Anne Boulevard by eliminating encroachments and building off-street bike and walking paths where now none exist
Clean up and repair the damage done to the parks from illegal camping
Improve water access along the Ship Canal by working with SDOT on the 6th Avenue West Street End
Evaluate parks along with the West & East QA Playfields that require additional resources to maintain & improve their play area
Locate and build an off-leash area on top of Queen Anne.
We realize that there will be many competing priorities among Seattle’s communities, yet the Queen Anne Community needs and deserves these projects if we are going to be able to support our increasing population density in a manner that continues to build a thriving neighborhood. Our parks and parks facilities are the back yards for many, if not most of our residents, and we need these facilities for a safe, healthy, and vibrant community.
