ANNUAL MEETING & BOARD ELECTION

The Queen Anne Community Council will hold its Annual Meeting and Board Election on September 21, 2022 at 7 pm via Zoom.

If you are 18 years or older and live or work in Queen Anne, you can run as a candidate, or you can attend the meeting and vote for the candidates of your choice. Details are below.

Eleven seats will up for election this year, and we are inviting anyone who’s interested and eligible to submit a letter of interest in running for these positions. You’re eligible if you are at least 18 years old and live or work in Queen Anne.

We’re a volunteer, non-profit organization of residents, business owners, and people who work in the community, and whose primary purpose is to advocate for the betterment of the Queen Anne Community. The Board of Trustees serves as the steward of these efforts through active engagement with the community, and sharing information with community members, city officials, and other organizations.

If you are excited about helping make Queen Anne an even better neighborhood for everyone, consider running for election in September. We ask that you make a commitment to participate in at least one committee or project, engage in the work of the board, and spend a minimum of 4 – 6 hours per month on Council work. We have an increasingly active organization, and there are numerous community projects that need someone to take the reins. You can learn more by visiting our website, and talking to any of our current board members. You can email any one of them at queenannecc@gmail.com.

To become a candidate, submit a one-page letter including your name, address, email, and telephone number, describing yourself and why you’d like to serve on the board to queenannecc@gmail.com no later than August 19, 2022. Please share the areas of interest you are especially passionate about. These submissions will be publicized prior to the actual election. Everyone who applies and is eligible will be on the ballot at our Sept. 21 election. At that meeting each candidate will be asked to give a 1-minute presentation stating why they are interested in running for the board.

This is a terrific opportunity to be part of the vision for Queen Anne now and in the future.

For those of you interested in voting in the election, just register to attend the meeting. Voting will be virtual, and results will be announced at the meeting. Here's the meeting SignUp: https://signup.com/go/EHpRvuc
