AlertSeattle from Seattle Fire and Police: Celebrate the 4th of July weekend safely without the use of fireworks! Fireworks are illegal in Seattle and can have unintended consequences including major property loss and significant injury, or in worst case scenario, death. Residents are encouraged to find other ways to celebrate the holiday or instead visit a professional fireworks show. The 4th of July weekend is historically an incredibly busy time for first responders: the use of 9-1-1 should be reserved only for life-threatening emergencies or active fires. For tips on how to keep your property safe from fireworks, visit SFD's Fireline blog: https://fireline.seattle.gov/2021/07/01/preventing-fires-caused-by-fireworks/.
